What Causes Redness On The Foreskin?

Hi I m 24 Years old. For past few 5-6 days, I was having irritation and itching on the inside of the foreskin (penis not circumcised). So, i applied candid-b cream and the itchiness subsides but i left a day in between without applying the cream to check if it s really cured. Then, I had mildly severe irritation, itchiness and redness on the inside of my foreskin. Now, I m applying candiderma after cleaning the inside of the skin with dettol. It s somehow becoming manageable but every time I apply dettol, it s turning red, and also, I can see a bit of skin getting peeled on the inside. But mostly the irritation and itchiness is controllable. Apart from the above problem, Urine, erection, ejaculation, everything is normal. Also, I m serially active, if it matters. Kindly suggest what should be the path forward or should I consult a doctor in person.

Hi.
As per your case history you are having balanitis.
My treatment advice -
1. Don't apply soap or Dettol on that part as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics, oral fluconazole taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
