What Causes Redness On The Legs From The Calves To The Feet?

I have reddening of my legs from my calf s to my feet. No swelling just reddened color. Some spots look almost brown under my skin. What would this be from? I do have neurological damage from several prior back surgery s, that s been 30 years ago so I don t think it has anything to do with this problem.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi and welcome to HCM.
Swelling in the feet and ankles can be a sign of infection. People with diabetic neuropathy or other nerve problems of the feet are at greater risk for foot infections. If you have diabetes, it is important to inspect feet daily for blisters and sores, because nerve damage can blunt the pain sensation and foot problems can progress quickly. If you notice a swollen foot or blister that appears to be infected, contact your doctor right away.
Wish you good health. Regards
