What Causes Redness Surrounded By White Patches And Swollen Tonsils?
Hello! I was eating something yesterday and it felt like food was stuck in my right tonsil. After lots of gargling and drinking (and swiping with my finger), the feeling that something was stuck did not go away and I figured I d just scratched it. Now about 12 hours later, that tonsil is extremely swollen and has a very dark red (nearly black like dried blood in places) spot with some white around it. It s very painful, difficult to swallow, and I notice the swelling even just while breathing. Should I see a doctor immediately or give it some time??
Hi, the white flakes maybe the food debris accumulated in tonsillar crypts-openings. But you injured the tonsil soft tissue so that entry and conversion of non pathogens in to pathogenic organisms. got infected. drink hot water do gurgling with hot saline in tolerable state.Drink lemon juice in hot water sip by sip. if you developed fever or Persistent pain seek medical advice to start Abc and swab. Take care. Cut your nails please
