What Causes Reduction In Semen Volume?

I am 64 years old. For the past two years the quantity of my semen is very less around one cc only . Erection is perfect, i feel the size of my testes are smaller than normal . One surgeon examined me and said I have varicocele. Is this the reason for the reduced amount of semen?
