What Causes Respiratory Discomfort While Yawning?

Hello yes i am having lun slight pains in my leftg when i go to take a big breath or try to yawn and it will stop me from yawning and instead takeing many deep breaths trying to make myself yawn and trying to figure out what could be causing it or if its worrisome and if i should wait a month for it to go away? I use to smoke cigarettes and quit for about 3 months now could that be whats causing it?

Hi,

Chest pain on deep breathing or yawning usually suggest inflammation of pleura (the covering of lung). This can happen following a viral respiratory infection. If there are no other symptoms like fever or cough, try taking analgesics like Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen for 3 days. If not getting better by then, kindly see your doctor for evaluation. In that case you may be asked for an X-ray
