What Causes Restricted Growth Of Nails Along With Paleness At Finger Tips?

I have a male friend, 66 years old, whose fingernails do not grow. His hands get cold and finger tips turn white. Doctors have told him this may be stress related but he has had the condition for several years and it has not improved. He uses a prescription cream but it does not help either. What other condition could cause this?

Hi.

Poor blood circulation could be the cause and so you can advise him to get his lipid profile checked, check on artherosclerosis, and his cardiac profile. Poor blood circulation and a few other systemic or auntoimmune conditions can also cause such a presentation, so along with the above investigations you can also request for a check on his ANA, ESR, CRP, and othet required blood investigations to either confirm or rule out all those conditions.

Best wishes.
