What Causes Restricted Retraction Of Foreskin Post Inguinal Hernia Repair?

Inguinal hernia repair question... I had the repair (open w/mesh) several weeks ago. I am now unable to consciously retract, withdraw, contract the testicle on that side. All swelling is gone, so hydrocel or fluid is not a factor. As far as I am aware, the nerve in the area (iliohypogastric I think) had to be sacrificed during the surgery. Is the muscle that retracts the testicle innervated by this same nerve? And therefore this will be permanent? As a side note, the cremaster muscle seems to be working. When I am cold, both testicles will naturally withdraw.

HI
Well come to HCM
I really appreciate your concern, it is not the case as you are thinking, you can not mover the testes in either of direction it is involuntary movement, it is not under your will some how, and so it is just nothing to worry hope this information helps.
