General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As per my surgical experience, the rib cage pain after gall stone removal can be related to

- collection at the gall bladder fossa in liver bed
- muscle or ligament spasm in right upper abdomen
- swelling of liver
- bile duct narrowing or residual sludge, stone in common bile duct
- post cholecystectomy syndrome with disorder of duodenal secretions
- lower lobe inflammation ( pneumonia or else ) of right lung reactionary to surgery
- others.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
