What Causes Right Shoulder Pain And Headache While Taking Crestor?

Hello, I am a 63 year old female who is relatively healthy . I take a thyroid medication and Crestor, and my recent bloodwork show normal levels. About a month ago I developed some pain to the right of my shoulder blade which my doctor attributed to driving and desk work. I have felt progressively worse, am waking up with night sweats and headaches, my taste buds are off, and I am having problems with my neck (crackles )and I feel like I ve had the flu over the last week, weakness, body pains, etc. Please advise! Thanks so much!

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have right shoulder pain and headache while taking Crestor. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like cervical spondylosis ,cervical radiculopathy or migraine . But in your case it seems to me that the symptoms are probably due to crestor as its side effects . Crestor is known to cause headache , tenderness in neck and swelling of neck glands . I would suggest you to apply warm compresses to neck , do warm saline gargles and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pin . Also consult doctor , who prescribe you this drug and discuss the condition . Doctor may alter the dose or prescribe substitute .
