What Causes Right Sided Abdominal Pain, Fever, Headache And Vomiting?

My son has stomach pains on the right side which started on Saturday. It then turned into a fever, headache and vomiting. They thought it was apendicitous or UTI. Yesterday he had 2 urine tests, 1 blood test, an ultra sound, xray, and CT scan and rules the both out. My son still has severe pains on the right side. Any ideas on what else it could be?

Hello,

It is good to know that the treating doctor has ruled out Appendicitis and UTI. Other causes of right sided abdominal pain associated with vomiting, headache and fever can be gastrointestinal disease, Liver dysfunction or IBS. You are suggested to give him anti emetics to stop vomiting. Keep him well hydrated and give him ORS to avoid dehydration. Dehydration can trigger headache.

He can take Acetaminophen, one SOS when needed to feel better. He can take Antacids and PPI'S. Give him semi solid food like porridge and oats. Get repeat urinalysis, blood tests and liver function tests done to detect any developing Liver dysfunction or enlargement. Avoid packaged, frozen, spicy or oily food. Give him home made food cooked in olive oil.
