Hi,I am Dr. Radhakrishna (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Lower abdominal pain (right side). Started a week ago (to 1 1/2 weeks) after intercourse and has not gotten any better. This happened once before about a month ago after intercourse but went away within a day. I seem to feel more pressure with a full stomach/bladder. Have had my pap smear - normal results, have had an internal and external ultra sound - normal results. No blood work has been done. My doctor said that since all the tests came back normal he has no idea what is causing my pain and to give it two weeks and if it s not any better or if it gets worse then he ll order a CT scan. I am 52 and going through menopause and have had minor cramping when my menstrual cycle is normally about to start. Have not had a menstrual cycle in about 5 months. Tonight I m having some pain not only in my lower abdomen but it s going up some and I have felt pain in my lower back on and off. I m concerned this could be something more serious and I m not sure if waiting 2 weeks is the best idea. Any suggestions? What other tests do you feel should be given to rule out something more serious or life threatening?

hi thanks for asking the picture you have given like( on off pain lower abdomen radiating to lower back) is typical of ureteric stone (kidney stone) but i would like to advise you some basic tests like urine RE, full blood count, ultrasound abdomen and pelvis........... meanwhile you can take painkillers and anti spasmodic drugs and drink plenty of water..........
