What Causes Right-sided Numbness And Tingling Sensation Throughout The Body?

Earlier today, I had about 20 seconds of numbness/tingling on my entire right side of my body from my face to my foot. I m thinking I may have had a mini stroke?? I also started taking prescription weight loss medication this week from a weight loss doctor which is Belviq and Adipex. I m taking 10 mg of Belviq in the a.m. and 37.5 mg of Adipex at 1:00. I have been fine on this combination but today I took a zyrtec because of some allergy problems and I m wondering if this caused an interaction. I took the Adipex at 1 and the episode occurred around 1:30. I had taken the Belviq and Zyrtec around 7:30 this morning. I m feeling better now, just still a little bit unsteady. There is no drooping of my face.

Hi,

I think you have correctly surmised that the symptoms are likely to be a TIA (what you can call as a mini stroke). The point is that the patients who develop a TIA are at a high risk of developing a full stroke. I therefore recommend meeting a neurologist for examination urgently. Test with MRI of the brain and MR angiogram (from Aorta). Initiation of anti-platelet and statin therapy thereafter would be useful.

As you said this could be a drug side effect. However the possibility of TIA followed by stroke can have drastic effects and therefore I recommend meeting the neurologist and getting the MRI with MRA to rule our this possibility before dismissing this as a side effect.

Hope I have answered your query.
