What Causes Right Sided Numbness Of The Face?

I'm having some numbness on my right face and right ear, I went to ER, she did some check on me, asked me to smile, moved around her fingers, test what I feel in both cheeks, movement and had an EKG , she foes not recommend a CT scan because of exposure to cancer, I was worried of stroke and she ruled it out today as a result of initial test, I would like a second opinion, I'll see my primary doctor tomorrow, what do you think.

Can understand your concern..

As per your complain Unilateral numbness of face and ear can occur due to the infections or injury to the Trigeminal nerve and its branches that supplies different areas of face as trigeminal nerve is the nerve of face..

Any injury like trauma due to dental treatment and injections, direct injury due to any accident, infections (encephalitis), tumour and cyst compressing over the nerve can lead to disruption in the activity of the nerve and can lead to numbness..

While the numbness of face can also occur as a result of some other conditions like Stroke, ischemic attacks, multiple sclerosis, etc..

I would suggest you to consult a Neurophysician and get evaluated..
He can advise you an MRI done and a single exposure does not lead to cancer as well as MRI is a correct diagnostic tool towards diagnosis in your case.
A proper diagnosis is a must for a proper treatment plan..
As of now start taking zinc and Vitamin B complex supplements..
