What Causes Right-sided Pain Under My Breasts?

Hello, 3 months a sharp pain on the right side on my spine (at about T7 ) woke me up and I could barely move. I thought I pulled a muscle exercising but never actually felt anything our of the ordinary on my last workout, which was 2.5 days before this pain started. Upper back started to tighten up over the next few weeks. After about 6 weeks I started to get a pain under my right breast (I am a female, 40 yrs old, lean and I thought pretty fit...) at the same height of the back pain. The front pain can be pretty sharp and at times it is hard to stay seated. I have absolutely no pain while exercising. I went to ER last week and they did a CT scan. Found a curvilinear density on my right adrenal glad and a potential fibroid in my uterus. Dr at ER never mentioned anything about the density in the adrenal gland. The young PA who is helping me coordinate this told me that just because they found a tumor in my adrenal glad that does not mean that it is malignant. She really got me nervous. I am getting an MRI tomorrow of my abdomen and one of the T spine in 2 weeks. PA did an physical exam yesterday and she palpated under my breast on right side. It hurt barely touching it and it feel swollen. Any ideas of what would cause this pain which started in my back? The back and shoulder muscles are so tight that they move moved my right shoulder forward, and there is a significant difference (right one protracts). Any suggestions on how to handle this situation? THANK YOU.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted your history about having sharp pains at T 7 level shifted to right lower chest, there is swelling and tenderness even on slight touch, tumor in adrenal on ultrasonography, going for further MRI studies of abdomen and spine in 2 weeks time.
The most probable diagnosis I can think about are one of the following:
Costochondritis.
Nerve compression with nerve pains.
Slipped disc.
Post-herpetic neuralgia that was missed.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Press on the spot, if there is any tenderness then the possibility of costochondritis present and get treated accordingly, avoid stress and anxiety.
MRI of spin, adrenals and other abdominal structures will help find out or rule out any other findings to be treated as necessary.
Take care and give feedback.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
