I recently woke up with excruciating pain in my left ear with it also feeling blocked, I went to see a doctor and they prescribed IBILEX 500, she said it may burst in a few days. After a few hours my ear has stopped hurting as much but it rings a lot and has a higher pitched echo of everything that I can hear, is this normal? If so, how long will it take before I stop having this echo?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per your query you have symptoms of ringing and echo in ears which is caused by ear infection leading to eustachian tube dysfunction and pressure imbalance. Need not to worry. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined and start treatment after proper prescription. Avoid touching or pricking ear with sharp object. You should take proper course of antibiotic. Do warm ear compresses. Put otogesic ear drops. Do warm saline gargles.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
