What Causes Ringing In Ears, Dizziness, Vomiting And Itching?

Hi,I have ringing in on my left ear for 5 years. Before it happened, I always feel dizziness, vomiting. Now,once a while I feel like floating and frequent itchiness on that particular ear.Sometimes the ringing is not so loud but most of the times very noisy, whole day. My age 50. Thank you.

Understanding your concern.


Thanks for your query. The symptom you mention in query are pointing to wards middle ear infection . The ringing in ear is called tinitus. Middle ear infection can occur due to many reasons like infection of upper respiratory track through Eustachian tube .

The nausea and dizziness are called vetigio which occur due to disturbance of vestibulocochlear nerve because of infection .

I would suggest you to visit ENT specialist (ear,nose,throat) for proper examination and to rule out cause like local increase in blood pressure and treatment . Doctor may confirm diagnosis with the help of otoscope and tympanometery and physical examination. He/she may prescribe antibiotics course ,painkillers and ginko biloba supplement .

The most important thing is to keep your ear dry until infection does away.
