For the last ten weeks I have had a high pitched sound in my left ear. The Dr said I needed to have my ear syringed, which was carried out approx 5 weeks ago. Unfortunately, it did not stop the ringing sound so I returned to the Dr who then prescribed Nasonex spray - 2 sprays in each nostril for 14 days. I have been doing this now for 5 days but notice that when I blow my nose the air sometimes blow out of that ear. Do you think this symptom is connected to the ringing noise in my ear? Should I carry on with the spray or go back to the Dr for another examination? Do you think it is likely that the ringing noise will eventually clear up?
As first-line management, you can take drugs like betahistine for symptomatic relief. If symptoms persist better to consult an ENT specialist and get evaluated.
