What Causes Ringing Sensation In The Ear?

I have had a ringing in my left ear for about 3 months. all other health is good, no medications or abuse. Last 2 weeks I ve been getting neck pain when I wake up (not normal for me) My wife and I bought 4 good pillows ,assorted, plus the 6 we already had to mix and match for a better nights sleep. I went to ent and he cleaned my ears and did audio ck and said my hearing was good in right ear but a little weak in left. 3 days later I feel popping in left ear like I ve got water in it (I have small ear canals) I m doubting I have tinitus

So sorry to hear about your problem and will try my level best to resolve it..

As per your complain it seems that ringing in left ear also known as TINNITUS that is occurring since 3 months along with neck pain since 2 weeks and weakening of hearing also in left ear can occur due to causes like ear infection, perforated eardrum, excess ear wax accumulation, Eustachian tube dysfunction, Meniere's disease, TMJ disorders, Acoustic Neuroma etc.

I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Audiometry, x Ray MRI can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

Treatment of underlying cause will help in resolution of the symptoms as Tinnitus is a symptoms of a disease and not a disease in its own..

In case if ringing does not resolve then you can be advised medicines like Tricyclic Anti-depressant like Amitryptiline, anti anxiety medication like Alprazolam, as well as Multivitamin supplements can be advised..
White noise devices can be advised..
You can also be advised Neuromodulation..
Avoid exposure to very loud sounds and also avoid diving, swimming etc..
