Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Good evening. I care for a 50 yr old female who has muscular atrophy, neurogenetic bladder, neuromuscular disease, retinia pigmentosa, and seizure disorder. Her eyes are rolling backwards, will not swallow, temp is 99.6 and BP is 82/62 pulse 88. Should we be taking her in to see someone in emerg or should we continue to treat at home
The patient has a history of neuro-muscular disease, retinia pigmentosa, and seizure disorder and is now rolling back of the eyes. It looks like she is having relapses of seizure disorder. In tonic seizure attacks eyes may roll back into their head and as the chest muscles tighten and contract, she may have difficulty in breathing and swallowing. You are suggested to get her examined in ER, she may need urgent medical support with medicines & intravenous drips. To avoid complications do not keep her at home.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
