What Causes Rotten Smell And Taste In Food With Nausea And Pain Under Breasts?
Why does everything I eat smell and taste rotten? No matter what it is, I tried to eat fruit snacks from the vending machine and they smelled like a dead animal. I ve also been having pain in my right side just below my breast and feeling nauseous with vomiting.

As per my clinical experience, the rotten smell and taste in the food with nausea may be in relation with development of esophageal diverticula as Zenker diverticula most likely. In this condition, parts of undigested food stuffs get stucked into the pouch like out-pouching of the esophageal wall, which is false diverticula and hence the food gets rotten smell with regurgitation.
The air contrast induced oesophagogram or barium study reveals the diagnosis very precisely. Primary relief can be obtained with proton pump inhibitor medications
