What Causes Round Spots On Tongue Especially With Acidic Food?
Hi I have a round spots appearing on my tongue every now and again. They come and go and sometimes, especially after I eat acidic food they burn. They grow in diameter over time and sometimes if there are two dots close they join and form a big one. I'm worried about it, and would like to get it treated.. Can you please explain to me what I have and how to get rid of it. Is it geographical tongue? Because I'm not sure that it is because it hurts - thanks ollie
Hi you definetely havd geographic tongue. Reason for this can be vitamin deficiency , or acute glossitis secondary to viral fever or any kind of stress. Burning sensation is due to loss of tongue papillae with little inflammation over the tongue. Take multivitamins for atleast 3 months with short course of steroids. It will settle , dont worry.
