What Causes Runny Nose And Watery Eyes?

Been to several ophthalmologists because of chronic tearing in my eyes and chronic nose running. Also diagnosed with graves thyroid condition and one . Nothing is working. No one thinks the eyes and nose are from one medical condition. One doctor said my tear ducts were blocked and needed surgery to fix, but then later said they were not. Any ideas for me to consider? e-mail address is YYYY@YYYY .

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Allergic rhinitis is a very common cause of both eye watering and nose running. You might need to take oral antihistamine like Loratadine and nasal steroid spray to reduce eye tearing and nose secretions.

Trying to identify situations or certain chemicals that may make it worse and avoid them is the best and more effective treatment so please be aware when your symptoms are worse and if they are related to a certain environment or chemical (flower, perfume, soap, or other chemical agents).

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
