What Causes Ruptured Cyst Without Regular Periods?

Apparently i am in pre menopause because i haven´t had my period since trhee months.., yesterday I had an ultrasound and they told me that I had a ruptured cyst (hemorragic). is it possible that i had this rupture without having menstrual period for so long?
