Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Sagging Skin Over Jawbones Post Tooth Extraction?
During an extraction of number one..... the dr. injured my jawbone and it is now showing through and the skin is lower than the bone and as it curves upward right under where it hinges the bone is out with the skin not able to cover the bone.... does the bone need to be covered??
As per your query it is really bad that your bone is exposed and the overlying mucosa(skin) is not covering the bone.
It seems that extraction was very traumatic and the mucosa is damaged or torn off from its place leaving the underlying bone exposed..
I would suggest you to go to an ORAL and MAXILLOFACIAL SURGEON who can assess your condition and can replace the mucosa and put stitches to cover your bone..
It should be done as early as possible as bone exposure can be painful as well as bone can undergo necrotic changes and furthur deeteriorate the condition..
