What Causes Salt Like Crystals On The Skin After Exercising?

We re just curious. Is there a name for a condition where one has too much salt in their system naturally? We are talking about causes of high blood pressure and someone familiar with the health field thought that there was a condition where our salt content could be naturally high. It was based on my comment that when I exercise and work out, I always have (what appears to be) salt crystals on my skin that I can literally scrap off. I say salt b/c it is white and looks like little powder crystals that dry on me when I sweat.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Please note that sweat contains salt. When sweat evaporates, salt is deposited on skin. Many people get watery powdery deposit on skin.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Varinder Joshi, General & Family Physician
