What Causes Salty Taste In Mouth After Having Ice Tea?
I have been on Advair and singular for a few weeks and developed a very salty taste in my mouth. First noticed it as I was drinking iced tea. I put two teaspoons of sugar in it and knew it would be sweet. It was like I had added salt. Still this way a few weeks later. Can it be from either of these two meds?
Hello, Yes, your medications can be responsible for taste change. Dry mouth is s common side effect. Please make sure you are well hydrated. Avoid excess salt, alcohol and other irritants. Make sure that you have balanced vitamins. Plaque can increase and be thicker which makes it harder to remove. Consider visiting your dentist if you are not up to date on your exam and cleaning. This will allow diagnosis of any contributing dental problems. Msintain good daily dental hygiene. Fungal infections such as an oral yeast infection may leave your tongue with a coating, present with tissue soreness and affect taste. Nyststin is a prescription medication to treat these infections. Consider blood tests to check for deficiencies or systemic disease such as diabetes that are known to alter taste. I hope you find some relief with my suggestions. Thank you for your inquiry.
