Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Scab On Acne On Face After Using Tea Tree Oil?
I put tea tree oil on a cotton ball to treat some acne on my face, so i apply a bandaid over it overnight thinking it was effective, until I woke up in the morning and saw a fresh scab on my face, I was wondering what I could do to possibly treat this and heal up fast.
Understanding your concern. I would suggest you to start applying Adapalene gel once at night. Also, wash your face with mild soap and cold water twice a day, exfoliate your face once a week You should give daily application of Glycolic acid 6 percent and retino a cream over your scars as it will lighten scars. Apply cotton dipped in tea tree oil and apply them on acne. You should visit dermatologist once and get it examined and go for micro-peeling and dermabrasion.
Hope your concern has been resolved
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
