What Causes Scab Or Burn Behind Ear?

I have a scab or burn behind my ear. I ve had the same thing once before, it has the same sensation as a burn when i touch it. it s in the exact same spot as last time, i first noticed it when i gently rubbed my ear and a flake of skin came away, then i could feel a rough patch behind my ear. this was a couple of days ago, now it feels like a burn as i said. its very sensitive. i know that i haven t burnt it or scratched it. its exactly the same as last time. i have a feeling it may be a virus or something. can you tell me if it could be STI related... thank you

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

As first-line management, you can apply low potency steroid creams like betamethasone for symptomatic relief. If the lesion persists, it is better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
