It continues to get worse . I am now getting very fatigued also . My scalp gets so inflamed it burst opens and bleeds . Do you have any idea what it could be ?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, long time scaling, burning and itching scalp with fluid oozing from blisters indicate possible fungal infection or parasite lesion from sarcoptei scabies. My guidelines at present:
- Keep the scalp clean with antiseptic soap or shampoo use
- Discuss the need of swab test for culture and sensitivity report (which is the gold standard for diagnosis)
- Local application of anti fungal cream with terbinaforce or itraconazole
- Sensible use of anti scabies lotion
- Control of blood sugar

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
