What Causes Scanty Menstrual Bleeding While On Birth Control Pills?

I am on birth control and took one pill during my last week of active pills around 12 hours late. This week I was supposed to get my period on the placebo pills. My period is always very regular but this time I only saw a a little little bit of blood, mostly light and dark brown and only seeing red once or twice when I wipe. What is happening?

Hi, I think there would have been very little chance of pregnancy if you have taken the pills regularly. But as you have taken one pill so late, ovulation might have occurred. So, do a urine pregnancy test at home to rule out pregnancy. If negative, wait for your periods. It can get delayed due to stress also or may be due to some infections. Get yourself examined by a gynecologist. If positive, consult a doctor if you don't want pregnancy.
