What Causes Scanty Menstrual Bleeding?

hi,am 18 years old my boyfriend and i had sex about 2-3 days before my period,he came inside me,but normally i would be having heavy period but this time its light with normal period cramps that last for a day,which is unusual,i took a home pregnancy test and it came out negative,i don t know what to do i am worried and my boyfriend say i shouldn t,can u please tell me whats going on???:(

As you mentioned that you had sex just 2-3 days before your period date ( regular date ).
Presuming that as mentioned by you your period are regular , so the sex date was safe and there is no chance of any pregnancy .
As far as concerned about scanty menses and cramps , the reason may be tension , anxiety , hormonal imbalance , so in my opinion , nothing to worry .
As you mentioned that home pregnancy test is also negative , so not a cause of concern , wait for normal regular date.
