What Causes Scanty Menstrual Period And Abdominal Pressure?

Hi, In June from 15-20 I had a regular monthly cycle and on July 6 I experienced spotting for three days and then a very slow continuous cycle that lasted until yesterday. I am experiencing some lower back pressure and some lower right abdomen pressure. I took a pregnancy test on Tuesday and it was negative. What could cause this? Thank you
