What Causes Scar On Left Lung?

My son just had a chest xray since previously had pneumonia and the radiologist noticed a bit of scarring on the left lung. He currently has bronchitis and is taking dicloxicillin for that. But today he has noticed some pain on his left side around the lung area and also in his back. Your thoughts?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The scan is while healing process of pneumonia. The current infection is being treated with Dicloxiciclin and he does not seem to have relief with it. Maybe it's due to bacterial resistance to the drug. I would suggest culture and sensitivity test of sputum followed by specific antibiotic course along with bronchodilator and probably anti allergic drug (as per need). Please consult your treating doctor to discuss the thing with him / take second opinion.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
