What Causes Scrotal Itch And Puffy Eyes Post Intake Of Any Berries?

I developed a severe scrotal itch and puffy eyes recently after eating strawberries the previous evening. This also happened before after eating cherries. I have no other allergies that I know of and have always eaten strawberries. I did have a procedure a few years ago and developed a few hives after recieving the dye that they use. Would appreciate your input. Pretty miserable.

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The reaction does sound typical of an allergic reaction but if you want to definitively find out, you should consider allergy testing either the blood or skin prick test.

It would be best to avoid the strawberries and cherries since both of these cause a reaction. If an allergen is continually used, the allergic reaction tends to get progressively worse.

The use of an oral antihistamine would help to reduce the reaction.

I hope this helps
