Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello. I am an early childhood teacher. On Friday, one of my 3 year olds had a seizure. With no warning, she fell to the floor. Her eyes rolled back, her body twitched, she was non responsive, she lost control of her bodily fluid and matter came out of her nose and mouth. She had no history of seizures. We called 911 and by the time they came, she was conscious but was crying and still not talking to us. That s the background. Here are my questions: Is it possible that this was a one time episode? How can I identify symptoms of another episode? Other than turning her on her side and waiting for the episode to end, what can I do to help her?

What Causes Seizure In A Child?
Hello, I understand your concern and would explain that there is no way to predict a future seizure and conclude if this is a one-time seizure. An EEG and a brain MRI would help exclude possible brain lesions. Consulting with a neuropediatrician is necessary. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
