What Causes Seizure On Being Striked On The Elbow?

My brother suffers from seizures although they are mostly controlled. He only has the rare one. Last night he was playing with his son and his son threw a small item (toy) at him striking him in the elbow. My brother collapsed and had a seizure. I have never heard of this occurring. Is this a known fact? What is the corrolation?
