Hello, my son who is 14 just informed me that he had a seizure. This has never happened before. Apparently he was eating a sandwich. His friend and him were playing around when his friend punched him on the leg(giving him a dead leg) his eyes rolled to the back of his head he fell and he started seizing. When he came to he asked what was going on. what could caused this? Should I be concerned?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear welcome to HealthcareMagic
Regarding your son's experience with seizure following a hard punch on the leg I will suggest strongly that he developed an anaphyatic shock due severe pain sensation

In view of this please do a CT scan to rule out other possible causes of seizure such as Cerebral palsy Metabolic disorder head trauma

Seizure of the type do not reoccur except when the is brain pathology then likelihood that he will be developing repeated seizures

I hope this helps Regards
