What Causes Sensation Of Pins And Needles In Throat While Swallowing?

I'm experiencing a sharp pain (ie: pins and needles) sensation in the back of my throat whenever I swallow; it's exclusively on the back left of my throat. Sometimes, this pain makes my left ear begin to ache. Advil seems to help, but only temporarily and it doesn't take the full "pins and needles" sensation away. I've been experiencing these symptoms for approximately 3 days now. What could this be?

Hi.
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain pins and needles in throat while swallowing seems to be due to conditions like throat infection, acid reflux etc.
You should consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Throat swab culture, upper G.I endoscopy, chest x ray etc to rule out the exact cause and treatment can be planned accordingly..
He can advise you antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkiller, Proton pump inhibitor like Pantoprazole and Omeprazole, antacids etc..
As of now do warm saline gargles.
Continue taking Advil..
Suck throat lozenges..
Do steam inhalations..
Sip on plenty of warm water throughout the day..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
