Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Sensation Of Worm Crawling Inside The Eardrum?
have seen the ENT twice for what feels like a work crawling inside my ear drum. Tried anti-fungal cream, nothing. What is this sensation of a worm crawling inside my ear drum? I have used a comb of peroxide, vinegar and alcohol, that doesn t work. No itching either
The sensation can be due to nerve irritation or the fluid that is normally present in ears. I suggest you consult ENT doctor once again, if you are not sure of the same one, you can consult a different one. Did your ENT doctor performed any imaging tests for this? Did you have history of any accidental injury? Did you poke the ear to clean by yourself?
An imaging study can help in better understanding this. Also a detailed history is required. With a clear understanding your doctor will be able to help with better management. Also avoid putting any fluids by yourself in the ear. This can be harmful.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Manisha Auradkar, General & Family Physician
