What Causes Sensitive Band Of Skin Under The Tongue?

I have two lines of skin that run under my tongue on either side towards the middle. They are almost like little nubbins in a straight line running all the way from the tip of my tongue to my salivary glands. They have recently started hurting and they are very sensitive to acidic foods and they hurt when i touch them. This has never happened before. How can I stop this? and what caused it in the first place?

The gland or the ducts could be blocked. Rinse your mouth thoroughly after a meal and gargle with warm salt water. Get a dental check- up done as well as any local infection could make the problem worse.
