What Causes Sensitive Testicles?

My wife is at the ER with my 3 year old son. He went to the hospital with sever abdominal pain. They found his left testicle to be sensitive and ordered a US. The doctor said the US showed epiditamitus and said its not the cause of the pain. Is this the correct diagnosis or should we explore further?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
3 year old boy getting increased sensitivity and showing epididymitis (?) is very very rare.
The possibility is that there might have been a partial torsion.
Or he would have got a trauma while playing that the parent might not be knowing.

I would advise the following:
Ask fora reference for the Urologist or a Pediatric Surgeon as this can be a serious problem to be considered unless proved otherwise.
Repeat ultrasonography and color doppler examination and have a clinical examination.
A proper diagnosis is most important and at a faster rate to get an appropriate treatment .
