Hi! Good evening. I am Dr Shareef answering your query.
Polyps per se would not give rise to such severe
abdominal pain unless infected causing
cholecystitis. However, this being a pathology in the
gall bladder should be taken care of. If I were your doctor, I would also go for an LFT, serum amylase, lipase for
pancreatitis which could give rise to such severe pain abdomen and a stool test for ova and cyst. If need be , I would not hesitate to go for a CT/MRI scan of your abdomen. Till the reports of the investigations come through and co related with the abdominal physical findings, I would advise you with a
proton pump inhibitor and an anti spasmodic drug for a symptomatic relief. On the dietary front, I would suggest you a bland diet, and absolute avoidance of alcoholic beverages, and smoking if you do.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.
Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. I wish you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
