What Causes Severe Abdominal Bloating After Taking Antibiotics?

I was in the hospital in July for a bad infection in the knee and it started to go up my leg. I was given high doses of three iv antibotics for two days. Ever since leaving the hospital I am bloated. It looks like I m gaining stomach fat, but I am the same weight. Could this be from antiboics.

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Feeling of bloating sensation in abdomen after a dose of antibiotics is usually due to eradication of normal intestinal bacterial flora.
To restore it back to normal, you need to take multivitamin capsules, lactobacillus containing powder or tablets and probiotics.
Gradually, as the bacterial flora regains to it's normalcy, your symptoms should start subsiding and you should feel better.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
