HI, Its a pretty embarrasing question. Tonight I pooped myself lol. It doesn t happen often but it s about the third time in the past year. I get severe cramping then I have diarrhea. It usually happens when I m out in public and can t make it to a bathroom. I usually have had dinner or some kind of meal approx 1-2 hours prior. But, Im thinking there might be something other than a bad case of the runs due to food? Do you think there is something to be worried about? Im 43 years old Thank you. YYYY@YYYY
There are different causes but you should be seen to determine which is the cause in your case.
Causes include: (1)damage to the muscles at the anal sphincter (2)constipation- the stool leaks around the hard stool in the bowel (3)diseases that damage the nerves in this area eg diabetes, multiple sclerosis, stroke, severe arthritis or other damage to the back affecting the nerves (4)hemorrhoids (5)anal surgery or trauma
I hope this helps
