What Causes Severe Abdominal Cramps And Nausea After Having Menstruation?

Hi am a 19year old girl and last month after my cycle I had painful cramps but in the morning only and they stops after a few days and suddenly this mouth they came back but now in the evening sometimes on the right side other times on the left and they were painful.they lasted 3days and now after 2weeks free of pain I woke up with a severe pain on my upper right side at 3 a.m and I could not sleep.Its like a sharp pain like à knife and it starts in the evening and when I sleep it gets worse its better when I stand.It comes and goes and my stomach feels like It has gas,am nausea,deep breaths and laughing hard cause pain in my stomuch.What could be wrong and may it be serious?Please help

Hi

Abdominal cramps after menstruation may occur due to ovulation related pain or Pelvic infections.Any history of fever,increased vaginal discharge should be ruled out.

Pelvic ultrasound should be done to rule out any uterine abnormalities such as fibroids. Abdominal ultrasound should also be done to rule out any other causes related to acute abdomen.
