What Causes Severe Abdominal Cramps While On Sprintec?

I m currently taking Sprintec and this is my first cycle. I started taking it May 22, 2017. A couple of days ago I started having really severe cramping, now I m severely cramping everyday and I have to take Midol to make the pain a little more bare able. My mom told me to stop taking it and contact my doctor. Should I?

I understand your health problem and concerns.
Sprintec is a combined containing 'ethinyl estradiol and norgestimate' as its ingredients.
Abdominal cramps is one of the common side effect listed with intake of this medication.
Generally, such side effects is seen only during the initial phases of its use and would subside gradually by about 2 to 3 months.
Kindly take supportive treatment to overcome the same.
If the symptoms persists or become more in intensity, then you need to consult your doctor at the earliest for the change of medication, as this might not suit you.
