What Causes Severe Abdominal Pain After Removal Of A Pancreatic Stent?
Have a stent in my pancreas, had two drainage tubes, they were taken out last Friday,I go in October 13, can t get in before, the drainage sights are painful, can t lay on my left side, can t get in locally, they don t like my insurance, I don t know where to go, and its getting very uncomfortable.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
If you have started to feel pain after taking out two drainage tubes from pancreas, and which is unbearable and cant lay on your left side; then, I highly recommend to go to ER to get it checked there.
My fear is possible re-infection and accumulation of pus that should be treated immediately. Prescription antibiotics might be needed and/or possible re-drainage.
Do no try to squeeze the area to ease the pain. Avoid laying on your left. Take Paracetamol or Mephenamic Acid for the pain.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you need further assistance.
Regards.
