What Causes Severe Abdominal Pain Along With Diarrhea And Vomiting?

I woke up around 1am to really strong abdominal pains. I thought it was just really bad cramping because of my lady days . But this pain was in the center of my stomach, if I moved even the smallest amount my whole lower back would hurt. I thought it was TSS (Toxic Shock Syndrome) because of the tampons. Then I finally got up and made my way to the bathroom. I had diarrhea and really bad vomitting. When I began vomitting I realized I had never seen vomit like that, at least not from myself. It was white, like transparent white, it looked similar to fat free milk with very few chunks and smelled like rotten milk. After that a lot of phlegm (mucus) began to come up. The pain quickly came back after that. I came back to bed because I really don t think Tylenol would cure this madness. The last time I ever felt pain like this was when I was eating a lot of pickles mixed with kool aid powder, but lately I haven t eaten anything sour nor spicy. Is it possible this is related to TSS? Or maybe just a virus? Usually when I go to the hospital they just assume its a UTI . No x rays, no nothing, so I was hoping to find answers here. Thank you.

Hi,

Watery loose stools are in most cases caused by dietary causes or infectious ones. If this is caused by diet then he should try to rest more and switch to a diet of clear liquids. Drink water, juice, bouillon and weak tea to avoid becoming dehydrated. Replace lost fluids and electrolytes with sports drinks. Avoid coffee or soft drinks that contain caffeine, since caffeine increases the loss of water and salt.

If you have nausea in addition to diarrhea, take very small sips of fluid frequently and suck on ice chips. He also may consider over-the-counter medications such as Bismuth Subsalicylate (Pepto-Bismol) or loperamide (Imodium).

In case of infectious diarrhea, you should do a microbiologist testing of stool and see the exact microbe and then antibiotics can be used additionally.
