What Causes Severe Abdominal Pain And Cramps After Having Cortisone Shot?

Hi, I had a shot of cortisone in my shoulder Wednesday and today I have severe abdominal pain and cramping. I had a shot of it last September and it was the same thing. I had frozen shoulder then and was afraid it was coming back. I have also had several intestinal surgeries and resections so my intestines are my weak spot. I wish I hadn t gotten the last shot. How long will it stay in my system and what can I take for the pain? Constipation is always a major problem.

Hello,

Most likely, you are allergic to Cortisone and you should tell it to your physician every time you go for any treatment. Take Cremaffin for relief from constipation.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhanu Partap, Cardiologist
