What Causes Severe Abdominal Pain And Nausea Despite Taking Antibiotics And Morphine?

My daughter is in the hospital in Los Angeles since Thursday. She entered with severe abdominal pain, fever and vomiting. Fever has subsided but she is still very nauseous throwing up vile smelling bile aides. She has had nothing by mouth since Thursday. Belly was distended but is currently a little better. CAT scan ruled out appendicitis, gall bladder, ovarian cyst. She is on anti nausea meds, antibiotics and morphine. She continues to be in severe pain. She has seen a GP, GI, Internist , OBGyn, and surgeon. All say give it time. My wife flew there to be with her and she says no one can give her a diagnosis. Help!!

Understanding your concern. As per your query your daughter have severe abdominal pain and nausea despite taking antibiotics and Morphine . Sometimes taking antibiotics can destroy normal flora of stomach which can cause such symptoms or viral infection can also cause these symptoms . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to many reasons like food poisoning , food allergy , infection of digestive system , gas , acid reflux , stomach flu or colic. Need not to worry much. I would suggest you to have quietly sips of water or other clear fluids. Avoid solid foods for a few hours try small amounts of mild foods such as rice, applesauce, or crackers and do not give your child foods or drinks caffeine, carbonated beverages, citrus and dairy products. If condition doesn't get better then consult pediatrician for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe anti emetic drug , antibiotics ,analgesic and antacid.
